Walk The Other Way

All of the wonders of Earth pass you by
The stars are out in full brightness tonight
And the wind seems to whisper
Truths to be told:

You’re dying, there’s not much time
You know you can do it
Go on and shine

I watched you so closely
You never did see
The strength of my love
You’ll never believe
How I cried in the shadows
As I hid from the day
Lost touch with myself
Until I heard the wind say:

What glitters you grab
And often are fooled
You've been used and mistreated
It’s high time you've been schooled
Look inside yourself
Who you truly are
If you cling to the past
You’ll never get far

Stand in the sunlight
Have love for yourself

Give up the act
You’ll never be anyone else
It’s your time
Go on and shine

I thought she would miss me
That our friendship meant more
Now I see it was lacking
And we can’t go back anymore
I get so angry
I’m not sure why
She criticizes who I am
And mocks my pitiful life
She was once a sister
Was all I did need
My best friend
A part of me

I went too far and got lost on my way
She found another pastime
And I left with my pain
I hear the rain falling
My skies are now gray
I’m soaking wet with teardrops
And I hear the wind cry:

I feel your pain
But life is a journey
And sometimes
Friends walk the other way.
