Your soft brown eyes comfort me
When my heart is heavy
And the day hasn't gone my way. 

You look at me knowingly
And without words 
You know just what to say. 

You wash away my troubles 
With reckless kisses on my face
And even though I’m not perfect
You see me that way. 

Your love comes without condition 
Your trust you need not prove
Your loyalty is endless
Your companionship is priceless.

I am just your human 
And you are my best friend. 

My puppy dog is beautiful
She needs no pedigree 
She may be just a mutt to some
But she’s everything to me.
