Mindless Mutterings

Mindless muttering
A breath against the wind
Blow back memories of nights past spent

A wing upon a butterfly
A teardrop out an eye
A kiss, sweet dreams, good-bye

Prayers to stars
To guided smiles
Previously never feeling
The touch across my arm
Wallowing in your disenchanted charm

The wind blows sand images
To mangled prisms
Seen no longer heard
Call from distant days
The rain washes it all away

Feeling nothing
Fearing the worst
This heart is but an evil
curse
To love, to die inside
To realize nothing is worth this fight
This flight of trembling fear

Discontent
Fading embers of a fire burnt out long ago
Up against a wall
Neither here nor there
Neither up nor down

Curious misbehaviors
Still not understood
Blood upon the mantle piece
Try to solve the mystery
Deep inside he killed me

My heart no longer grieves
Cold dead, terrified stone in my chest
The times of chaotic screams
Anger, lust, sharp slivers of broken dreams
Ended for eternity.

Note: sometimes my misspellings or usage errors are done intentionally, often really.  This is one in which I used a plural that I don't think exists but the word felt right so I've always left it as written. I blame Lewis Carroll.
