Mama Said
Mama said
Life ain't such a gentle thing
And all the love in the world
Can't choke back your pain
The fault is on your shoulders
There's nothing more to gain
Endless suppression
We all call it a game
Changes inside you help to take the blame
I am honest
I can't handle the shame
So when my ups and downs burns you all to hell
Remember, Mama said
Crying in the shadows
My lies are seen as truth
How else can I get through
And I'm so afraid
Life is an ugly game
Nothing will ever change
Tell me I am worth it
Cross my heart and hope to die
How can I make it
When I can't see past the fire
Frustration builds to meet the anguish
No tomorrows
When there's no dreams
No maybes
After Mama said.
