Dear Lord,

There are times when we each fall to our knees
And praise you, curse you, or ask for miracles
But me . . .
I’m here to say thanks
Sometimes we take the little gifts for granted
And I have learned
That mostly it’s the small
That make the mighty
It’s the kisses of love
Whispers of faith and trust
The bonds of family
Emotions friends share
And the wisdom and insight of a child
That make small gifts
Big miracles
We are all too worried about our troubles and needs
To stand back and see
That life is a gift
I here and now thank you
And I vow to make this gift a bit happier
For all whose path meets mine.
