Crawling Past The Bushes
Crawling past the bushes
Chasing down the madness
Missing every aspect of you
With singing from the angels
And misshapen anger
Speaking from the emptiness within
I was so cold when I met you
And so happy to love you
You lit every doorway
Highlighted my mourning
Gave sweet voice to my longing
Sang with me songs of forlorn dreaming
With crystallized dewdrops augmenting the lawn
I was wrong to know you
Hated because I loved you
And I miss you when the empty takes hold
But I’m better for loving, hating and struggling
With such desire I felt for you
So I drift back in the ages
And see the crazy hedges
And me
Crawling past the bushes at dawn.
