A Good Friend

 

I just wanted to tell you
That above all else
You’re a good friend to me

It doesn't matter 
Whether we’re intimate or not
The feelings I have for you
Won’t up and stop

I know it bugs you
And I understand
So I won’t try and you won’t give in
Because to me it doesn't matter
How far we go
When I’m with you
I’m not alone

I don’t need relationships
I’ve been there before
What we share in friendship
Means so much more

I know you care for me
Because you don’t want to hurt me
I’m happy you care
But here’s a little warning

To me it don’t matter whether 
We’re together or not
My feeling for you aren't based on lust
It’s the you on the inside I want and desire
And I think you’re feeling the same

But no matter what you decide
Friends, lovers or having it all
